Read Along with Apologetics315

Next week we'll be launching a new weekly feature: Read Along with Apologetics315. The goal: group book study and discussion, one chapter at a time. This will be a Friday feature, starting on September 9, 2011. So you have one week to order your copy of the book. (The Kindle version is released on Sept 5)

Here's the book we'll be working through: Christian Apologetics: A Comprehensive Case for Biblical Faith by Douglas Groothuis. This is a comprehensive apologetics book, suitable for use as a textbook in the field. Reading through it one chapter a week will expose the reader to a broad scope of apologetics content and will be quite rewarding.

Each week an audio intro for each chapter by Douglas Groothuis will be provided, along with a brief synopsis and study questions. Are you ready to take the Read Along challenge? Grab the book and get ready to start Chapter One next week!

Grr … I've been waiting to read this book for ages on Kindle. I can't believe it's available on Google books but not Amazon until 9/5.

This is amazing. Even though I am already in three different study groups, I totally gonna participate! Big ups.

Friday links will continue as normal. But this will precede it at 730am GMT.

Glad you're excited! Look for an interview with Doug Groothuis about the book Monday.

Just ordered the book on amazon through the amazon link on AP315, btw Brian do you get paid for clicks on that link or for things purchased after that link is clicked? I just ask so i can use it to support you effectively.

Great, Nate.
Yes, if you use the amazon links via Ap315 for other things, it benefits the site and is much appreciated!

I'm in! Thanks. When will the first set of study questions be coming?

Brian said...

Friday is when the study questions, chapter synopsis, and audio intro by the author will be posted - and that will happen every Friday for each of the 26 chapters. So you can use the questions for your own study, and/or use them to discuss with others here in the comment section.

This is just what I need! Looking forward to some great discussions.

Great idea, I look forward to it.

One thing - please be aware that the Kindle version of the book doesn't have real page numbers. This could be potentially frustrating for folks who are trying to connect a page reference in the study materials with their electronic version.

Brian said...

dkmartin,
Thanks for noting that. It will be taken into account. I have both versions, so I'll be able to provide references to both.

A reminder for those considering becoming part of the discussion and who would like to preview the book, Amazon allows sample viewing on Kindle.
