This is sad as it exposes how bad theology (particularly of the reformed variety) absolutely kills apologetics.
It's no wonder that our churches are filled with empty-headed people who by and large have absolutely no clue how to defend their faith.
I agree with these guys that all good preaching is, in a certain sense, apologetic in nature. But I feel as though this was a bit dodgy. Everyone one the panel knew what they were being asked and only one of them addressed how apologetics, as it is commonly understood, is to be used in the pulpit. Sadly the one guy who answered the question also downplayed the importance of evangelism saying that it's all just fun and games. He wouldn't agree with that interpretation, but that's how it came across.
Care to be specific, Wes, on how reformed theology kills apologetics?
Apologetics have better learn to adapt a more critical way of thinking and understand of the bible and its application in today’s world or end up like Muslims who appear totally inapt on social issues with their dogmatic beliefs systems.
Hi Davitor,
Do you have any specific examples of where apologists are going wrong in their understanding of biblical understanding?
Ex N1hilo,
He might be refering to presuppositionalism and misunderstands it.
