Sunday Quote: Hudson Taylor on Hardness of Heart

"Perhaps if there were more of that intense distress for souls that leads to tears, we should more frequently see the results we desire. Sometimes it may be that while we are complaining of the hardness of the hearts of those we are seeking to benefit, the hardness of our own hearts and our feeble apprehension of the solemn reality of eternal things may be the true cause of our want of success."

Hudson Taylor's life story and dedication to the people of China is something that everyone should take the time to read or hear. He was a pioneer in many ways. As someone who lives and labors in the Far East and is also not part of any missionary organization, I can really identify with a lot of the quotes that he gave so often and eloquently.

He once said, "God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply."

He lived it, too.

Thanks for keeping the memory of his life and work alive.
