In almost every debate my favorite parts are always the cross examination and question and answer portions. Although the description of this debate says there is a lot of back and forth and questions and answers and indeed there is! I was ultimately frustrated with it because of the rigorous time constraints the moderators enforced.

Usually you might listen to a debate and think the participants are being too testy and maybe a little arrogant. In this debate I thought it was the moderators that were somewhat rude. If you're going to have a format like this then make the debate 3 hours long and let the debaters debate!

I agree. It seemed to me that this debate was set up to be a competition of the one-liners. Neither participant was allowed time to develop an argument or defend an attack. This was no weighing of reason - it was a quick sparring match of rhetoric. Unfortunate.

I stopped listening to this "debate" halfway through. You guys weren't kidding when you said the debaters didn't have time to defend their position. The format for the debate was very strange for a debate setting. Only roughly two minutes to answer a question like, "How do you know the Bible is the true revelation?" And then only 45 seconds to rebut your opponent's claim? Geez.

I heard the whole thing. Against my expectation, D'Souza came out stronger. Format was different to a standard debate, but it worked somehow.
