Terminology Tuesday: Propitiation
Propitiation: An offering that turns away the wrath of God directed against sin. According to the New Testament, God has provided the offering that removes the divine wrath, for in love the Father sent the Son to be the propitiation (or atoning sacrifice) for human sin (1 Jn 4:10).1

A important and wonderful truth that We almost never hear in church anymore, because people dont like the wrath of God.
Sadly true, tenkaren. The Good News makes no sense apart from the bad news. It just looks silly. And is rightly regarded as superfluous.
Most preachers tell of God's love without ever telling of God's wrath. We hear we've been saved from hell, truth is we've been saved from His wrath...
